I wasn't born to find papers for tax season.
But seeing as how I have to.... every year....
Today's Happy is about what I enjoyed along the way to finding all that nasty paperwork.
.. .......
.........
Some great bits and whatchama-callits for those framed collage vignettes I'm just going to make soon. *The lyrics to a song that always makes me cry at church. * A picture of my rabbit-shootin' granny mama. * A hole-punched copy of Judy's boring blog. She thinks she's boring. She doesn't know that I have copied some of her wise words and put it into my binder of miscellaneous stuff that I don't want to lose. I never do that with boring people blogs. *Some sweet cards that I've kept for years. I love re-reading them. They give me hope, or something. *the Housewife's Prayer from the front page of the Mennonite Treasury Cookbook. I must expound on that another day.
*More words from Judy. Gosh, is she boring. *One of Sam's masterpieces. "What? I didn't forget my lunch!" *My brother Ken's memorial thingie about the Educational fund set up in his name. Handsome guy.
*Some daycare anecdotes that I scribbled on scrap paper and shoved in the drawer. *a marker picture of a pot of flowers that Sam drew in kindergarten. He said it didn't look EXACTLY like the plant; but I thought it looked better. *A couple of pics of the little feller. He's not really my favourite. Just my youngest. Which means his pictures are always the cutest, because...well... he's the youngest! *A hand-scribbled note from a Darfur friend that I've never met. I love it. Here's what it says: "Please forgive the stationary. I included a gift for you because you are such a giving person." (I got a great, loose-weave scarf. I love it). *An elaborate picture drawn by my other boy-wonder, Micah. *Some robots.

Now. The people who are born for tax season. Do they find this kind of happiness in their filing?

well said. Gives you time to collect more antler anecdotes along the way. My brother functions that way, but he's talking about October a year or two or three away, and he's the variety who has to pay back the gov't. My sister, on the other hand, doesn't worry until October of the following year or two and thinks of it as a forced savings sort of plan. Maybe most of my family wasn't born for tax season? Except my brother who was trained as an accountant.... And my sister who works as an office manager.... and my other sister who files her nail clippings alphabetically...
Chealse I am in envy of you because you are already on the other side. *sigh*
I think you're better off with the resolution. Keep the oddities in a shoebox or something.
(this weekend was supposed to be my deadline. Like the weekend before, and the weekend before that one.)
Oh look - my writing appears on your blog!! I am honoured.
Boring is all I've got Joyce. Please don't take it from me!
