Why It Would Be Silly To Work Weekends

I was like a late-blooming groupy down at our own corner gas on that bright, bright Saturday morn. Here he was, a true Canadian celebrity.... in my town, talking to my kids, and looking human and everything. I gushed about family entertainment, great Canadian humour and his gift of hilarity. I didn't blush though. And I never threw myself at him. I have my reputation to withhold.
And for a moment (or considerably longer) it was the 80's again. With the backdrop of Michael Jackson stuttering and panting, and a few of my own unsolicited screams I survived the pirate ship with my dear old Red River Ex sidekick.
Then of course, it was high time to spend five or six hours on the two bestest rides ever, ever.

From ladybug #4 to the choo choo train bound for....
well...
ladybug #4.

How very cool that you saw Brent Butt FILLING UP GAS, no less! There are few celebrities I'd fawn over, but Brent Butt!?!! Oh yeah.

EXACTLY!
If it were some Hollywood movie star, I'd probably snobbishly cross to the other side of the street.... But not for the Buttsky.

Brent signed my friend's very pregnant belly this same wknd. guess you must be neighbors.

You got to see Brent Butt. I love him. Love Corner Gas. I'm jealous!

Looks like you had a good time.

I so love your hair and your face on the roller coaster. And... is that Elaine?? Great photos!

who is this friend, pray tell?

severe understatement... a good time. And yes, Corner Gas is my favourite.

It really IS Elaine! What a great surprise to run into her. She and I did the boat back in the eighties at the EX. late into the night. Ignoring the thought of a biology exam the very next morning...

During the fair I felt like I could do without, but now that it's over I really did have a good time even though majority of it I did on my own, sigh. It was kind of cool seeing "the Buttsky". I haven't laughed like that for sometime now, it felt good.

just catching up, sorry i've not been here for a while - and so sorry to hear about your ongoing battering by life and death. You're often in my thoughts.

Well, I am sad to say I don't know who Brent Butt is...does he have a website??? ;)..but I must say...kudos to you for going on the Pirate Ship!!! I fear the Dumbo ride at Disney ;)

Danielle, I'm so sorry to hear that. Of course, he is a Canadian humourist with a dry, dry television show about a small town in a dusty, dull province.(Corner Gas, I'm sure there's a website) We LOVE it. Its not often that something local is funny and authentic, but Brent Butt has done us more than proud.

I hope that you are planning to crop your gravity defying 'scream' face and make yourself a killer avatar!

It is so easy being a Canadian Celebrity. Do you suppose that George Clooney can just go out and pump gas? OK bad example.
