you ARE the weakest link

"Yes, she said sitting a little straighter in her chair, "its simply good business for me to expect that customers would pay for their daycare spot, whether or not they decide to use it. I get up, don't I? and turn over my OPEN sign? Its not like I get to decide whether or not to work that day, right?"

WRONG!
WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

Why, just that morning she had decided quite spontaneously to change her work hours. She resolutely slept through one alarm clock, two phone calls, and three knocks on the door.

Oh, yes.
She did.

Ok, in my passive-aggressive style, I would just not "be there" one day when she shows up with her child at your door, and then say, "Oh, I decided to take the day off. Sorry if that inconvenienced you".

oh, but Mary. With all that love in your heart, you read this post thinking that you needed to defend ME. The problem is... I basically just DID what you would only fantacize about...

guilt, guilt, guilt.

Yes, I realized that quite awhile after I sent my comment -- oh well, that's why you brought the pie. It didn't make sense to me when kathy told me you were delivering pie. I don't read between the lines all that well. That's why they say I put things very "bluntly". Little room for misunderstandings. Blah blah..........
