I Can't Afford a Life Coach so I Got Myself a Blog

There are people who are making a living doing what they are good at, and doing what is fun, and using their quirky gifts at the very same time. If I had a life coach, I bet she would explain to me how I could do that too. She would set me up with some simple but effective marketing ideas, design me a website, and legislate the 24 hour clock to 52 hours instead. She would speak soothingly to me about what to focus on, what not to get distracted by, how much time I should spend scrounging for unique bits of fabric, and how to balance my fabulously successful career with my family life.

But until then, because I am way above jealousy or envy, or covetous thinking, I'm going to post some links to women who are doing amazing work all by their big selves. I am going to be happy for them. Well, mostly I'll whine about how I wish I could market like them. Mostly I'll act like a victem who has had a terribly unfair life and how if I had been born different, I could be like Wanda, Soule Mama, and Gathered Roots.

But if I had a life coach, and if I were good at marketing, then the biggest decisions I'd ever have to make are whether I preferred the Hilton or the Marriott.

Hmmm, I prefer deciding whether we are leaving the house today or not (stained clothes or non-stained :)). I like traveling but not big hotels--I prefer staying with friends and being on vacation. :) If I must work I prefer the comforts of my own messy home. :)

well, hmmmm. I take out my 4 year old SON who wears his favourite three layered pink tutu. I don't like flying, and I don't really care about hotels, except I like the idea of being responsible for nothing but the remote control. I only put in that link because I came across a post that I wanted to share, but not be too obvious about it.

If for only a moment, I'm going to act as your life coach and tell you are in much need of some girl time and rebonding. And as your life coach I'm going to tell you to make a 2 1/2 hr. drive to Killarney next week wednesday to see your old friend. OR Maybe you could somehow book the day off and your old friend could drive out to see you!

Nance- so if I didn't take the day off, I would drive to Killarney WITH the daycare kids?!

I guess that's why you're the writer and I'm not! haha I guess you would need to take the day off either way...is that a possibility??

Ok i'm getting a little unnerved about the friend in Killarney thing who is she and why are you not going to see a friend in Boissevain this weekend?

there are two ways to read this: "why? are you not going?"; or "who is she, and why?" I'm going with option B, since I am most certainly going to visit a friend in Boissevain this weekend!

(are there going to be any yard sale in Brandon? or Boissevain? or must we fantacize?)

oooh, but I love drama!

Nancy said...

Ohhhh...now I'm intrigued! Who is this friend in Boissevain? Do I know her? And if we play the mennonite game will we find out we're related? ...the drama continues...

Funny! My husband has been hinting that perhaps I need to BE a life coach...not hire one...all I can think is...have you looked at MY life lately??????

Nancy if your still checking I will tell you that I am the friend in Boissevain and I know you....

this is practically like being on msn! (and we don't even let our kids do that!)

But who's Janice?

i've thought long and hard about the marriott/hilton question, while you all were chatting.

it's tough when you've got to stay in a crummy place like the hilton. that's why i always go with super 8 or days inn.

they almost always have a little coffee maker and a blow dryer in the room. what's the hilton got? bathrobes?

oooh...i feel as though i'm reading a spy novel...the mystery is getting bigger and i'm no closer to figuring out who rosa or janice are, and how they (or should i say 'she') know me. Any hints??

Nance, I'm definately with you on wondering who Janice is. I have a sis-in-law Janice, but she is in no way related to Rose, or my life which includes Rose, or includes you, Nancy. Did she mean to say; "friend of Joyce" and had some sort of verbal slip? or is she indeed a friend of sil Janice, in which case, I am wrong about who I believe the anonymous writer to be?

This is all making me feel weak. I think I need a snack.

Today, I will be your life coach and my advice to you is to stay away from Wanda, Soule Mama and Gathered Roots. For your own good!
Keep hanging out with the likes of me who can barely post once a week and feels like she accomplished something when she hung a clean towel on the towel bar in the washroom.

thanks for the clue Joyce! it is not rosa but rose...and that makes things very clear. and so rose, if you're still reading...when did you move to Boissevain?
but wait...the answer to my original question was never given...Joyce, would it work if my mom and i drove to niverville? I'm sure she would be thrilled to visit with her sisters for a day while i hung out with you.

I do not lie it is not rose but Rosa at least on my birthcertificate. But than pigtails made it Rosy. In high school I became the distinguished Rose and only in University became the illusive Rosa. Long story short it helped keep the intrege going today. Sorry for all of the spelling errors but I just got off of work it is midnight and I don't feel like editing ..And oh ya its not my blog sight ..whoops sorry Joyce..... I just realized that mathimatically joyce, nancy and i will have had to check this sight at least 3 times today. incredible

oh, but think of what it will do for my reader stats!
And back in our old life when you wanted to be elusive, you called me "Brenda" and never "Janice". Don't go changing on me, I might have trouble recognizing you...

Nance- of course you'd be welcome in my Nelderveldt home. I'm not sure yet about # of kids, but there's the baby that for sure I don't get the day off from. I'll e-mail you later when I have a formed thought or two.
