Praying that God be incredibly near to you & your family during this very difficult time.

I have been blessed by your honesty and deeply touched by all of your emotions that you have shared here over the last few weeks...and how you have chosen to continually rely on God.

(PS, just so you know how I came across your blog...I have been reading it for a while now...my friend Shelli Ross directed me here.)

Just about to go to bed and I caught this. I'm so sorry to hear you've lost one of your limbs, Joyce, but also relieved that you can now get on with the healing.

Bear hugs to you, Brian and the kidlets.

thank you. You are all part of my "healing rain". When I read your kind and sincere comments, the "rain" just kind of courses down my cheeks.

I didn't know Ken, but I feel I got to know him a bit through you; and I will remember Ken. I don't know what the situation is in the picture, but it looks like a father consoling a hurt child...made me stop, think and stare. Faith, Hope, Love...the greatest of these is LOVE.

Joyce, Brian & family;
I am very sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you in this difficult time. No words can express the deep pain that is felt when a loved one dies, but God is always with you. May He bring you peace.

Joyce,

Don't be dismayed at good-byes.
A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.

You gave us all a beautiful portrait,
every brother should be so lucky.

I just heard of Ken's passing. I worked with Ken at Shore, Davis in Ottawa. He was an amazing person, both in and out of the office. Ken was ahead of his time - I remember him trying to get me to go to yoga with him and Leonard - and making coffee with his bodum. Ken made us laugh on a daily basis, especially as he imitated the soap stars as we all ate lunch around the boardroom table - while the soaps were playing. Ken will be sadly missed. I am greatful to have spent my articling year working with Ken. Regards, Greg Rose

I haven,t been on your blog for a while.sorry to hear your loved one passed on.we don,t know why things in life happen as they do.all we know is that the Lord did not promise us a life with out problems, but that he would be with us through them all.and one day we would be with him in a place where there was no more tears and no sorrow or pain.we are to take the good memories and they are what we hold tell we meet again.let the Lord wash the painful ones away.for the one who slipped away is in a new body and he now dances with angels and the sky no longer holds him down.we will see him again in a better place.God keeps the family together only in differant rooms.we are in the waiting room, ken is already seeing the doctor and his new body is working just fine and will for forever.God bless you all and give you his peace and help you let the rest go.we miss them but we know they are with the one who loves them more then we could.goodby ken tell the Lord hi for me.look up my step Dad and my granny.Jesus show ken around and help him find my family and tell them hi.give the family ken left behind the peace you promised us and help them know the joy ken knows now.God bless you and hold you safely in his hands.

Greg Rose--
your comment meant so much- you describe Ken as so many others have. I remember him telling us about your noon hour Y&R times and we thought it was hilarious. My sister and I still imitate the bad Y&R acting to this day.
I'm glad you found my site- it must be a lonely feeling to be far away, Ken has been a very happy, and at peace fella since living in Wpg with his girls and his wife. He was an amazing papa and husband to them.
Again, we thank you.

To EVERYONE; Every day when I see these compassionate comments mounting, it promotes healing.
You are all precious.
You have all walked this with me, and I thank you.
